Overleg Wikinieuws:Aanmelding moderatoren
Just a couple of technical notes on this
bewerkenI'm very happy to see some policies being put in place. I need to mention just a couple of things here, though:
- Under the circumstances, I think the stewards will accept a vote here and now as effective once the new Dutch Wikinews is exported to its own subdomain. It's possible they will not, because of the possibility that people will join the community only after the wiki is exported. But because of the next reason below, I think they will...
- Normally, administrator status is only temporary for new and small wikis, because the community is small and the number of supporting votes is small. Therefore, stewards usually only grant administrator status for 3–6 months at first. (But also because of that, they will probably accept your vote here, because they know that in six months you will have to go back to the community for a renewal.)
- The stewards will not allow bureaucrats on this project until the project is quite a bit larger. Until then, when the community approves the appointment of a new administrator, rights will be put in place by a steward.
- Under the circumstances, unless this project is already exported before any administrator is approved here, I will grant any new administrators here the right "test administrator" for the period until the project is exported.

- Also: Seven days is the general rule across wikis. If your community has a 14-day rule, you should use that as the requirement here immediately. I mentioned seven days because that is the minimum rule that the stewards require. StevenJ81 (talk) 12:34, 29 June 2017 (UTC)
- @StevenJ81 - If there isn't a special procedure, than we should take our own standing procedure and skip all the rules we thought that were at stake. Ymnes (talk) 15:29, 29 June 2017 (UTC)
- @Ymnes – That's exactly what you should do. I'm sorry if I was unclear in my message on the various talk pages, but here's what needs to happen:
- Run your election according to your standard procedure.
- If an administrator passes according to your standard procedure before the wiki is exported to nl.wikinews.org, then I will flag that administrator as a test-administrator here for the time being.
- If that happens, then once the wiki is exported, I will go to m:SRP and get the rights turned on at the new wiki.
- For anyone else, whether because the process is still running when the wiki is exported, or because this is happening later on, once the standard process is finished, go to m:SRP and request the rights.
- Just to emphasize: The "seven days" rule is because stewards require the local rule to be at least seven days. They do not override stricter local rules.

- To make the procedure clean, I have deleted the votes and we are going to restart at 18:00 h (CEST) = 16:00 h (UTC), so within a couple of minutes. Ymnes (talk) 15:57, 29 June 2017 (UTC)
Ymnes (talk) 15:57, 29 June 2017 (UTC)
- @StevenJ81, thank you for your advice and help. In fact I think nl.Wikinews may have started yet in 14 days. In the first days we may not have an administrator yet. What do we do to overcome that time, in case there are people that disturb the project? Is there a quick way to ask help from elsewhere? Is that the task of a steward? Ymnes (talk) 16:34, 29 June 2017 (UTC)
- @Ymnes: Routinely, that's a job for stewards and global sysops. Alternatively, if you have a real problem, best to ping the importer directly–either User:MF-Warburg or User:Ooswesthoesbes—as he will have admin powers during the import process. Let's hope that doesn't become an issue. StevenJ81 (talk) 18:21, 29 June 2017 (UTC)
- OK, we'll see, thank you for your reply. Let's hope we'll only meet working bees, that would be the best in any way :-) Ymnes (talk) 18:30, 29 June 2017 (UTC)
- We gotta leave it to MF-Warburg, as we are looking at a reopened wiki, which means that importing is a bit harder than usual, as many pages are double. So, I believe MF-Warburg will delete the contents before importing everything from here. This is necessary, as a lot of pages have been moved or deleted in the meantime here on the incubator :) --OWTB (talk) 19:17, 29 June 2017 (UTC)

Voorstel
Ymnes (overleg) 18 apr 2021 10:08 (CEST)
